Please join us on the 12th September to ask the Woodend Community RUOK?
On Thursday 12th September 2019, Woodend Neighbourhood House is partnering with Woodend Library to host its annual R U OK? Day Community Lunch at the Woodend Community Centre.
Start a conversation and change a life
R U OK? Day is a national day of action, where communities all over Australia come together to ask each other, “Are you OK?”. Let’s face it, life is busy, and we often find it hard to find the
time to check in with the people around us and really listen to what they have to say. Often, we can feel isolated and don’t know how to connect or ask for help.
Community lunch is a great way to make new connections and start conversations. We know that a sense of connection and belonging boosts our well-being and ability to cope with life’s ups and downs, and what a great way to connect over delicious food.
We need your help
We’d like to invite you to join us to share some information about your services or tell the community more about your group and what you do. Social isolation is an increasing issue, especially in rural communities and we’d love to give visitors to our lunch some ideas about how they can get involved and meet new people.
We’d love you to join us and the Woodend community on the day and start some important conversations. This event is a chance to showcase what you do and to connect with the people of our town. We’d like participants to leave thinking or saying “now I know where to turn for help with..”, or “I never knew about that group, I’d like to get involved”.
If you are able to get on board and help us, it would make our day!
Expression of interest details are attached.
