Sustainable House Day depends on the work of a sizeable number of volunteers, from homeowners to the people who brave the cold to “man” the farmers’ market stand in August and September. The more helpers, the more fun we all have!
We’re looking for volunteers to help publicise the event so the local “open homes” get lots of visitors, and can share local experience in making homes more comfortable, more affordable and more sustainable.

The 2nd Victorian Beekeeping Conference has been convened by a Steering Committee that consists of beekeepers from rural, regional and metropolitan Victoria.
The aim of the Conference is to connect with hobbyist, recreational, sideline and commercial beekeepers from across Victoria. Conference delegates will hear from informative and inspiring presenters including researchers, educators, entrepreneurs, biosecurity specialists, innovators and authors.

Council will introduce a full food organics service from 2020, with all kitchen and food waste including meat and bones able to be disposed of in green garden bins. As part of the new service, garden bins will be picked up weekly and collection of general rubbish bins will move to fortnightly.
